My car started jerking when accelerating. I made an appointment to have my work vehicle's problem diagnosed. Even with the appointment it took days to get the car checked. I received a diagnosis (gear shift assembly and transmission fluid exchange), repair estimate of around $1,600, and an estimated repair completion date. The day I was supposed to receive my car back I get a call informing me that the problem was essentially misdiagnosed and the vehicle now needs a torque converter (with the shifter assembly the total is now expected to be around $5,500). I authorized the repair immediately and was given a repair date. The day came and I got another call informing me that the repair had not been finalized and was given a new date. That date came and went and after another call I was given a new date which was finally kept - Two weeks after I dropped my car of. My adviser Larry was good at keeping me informed and the saving grace was that he arranged early on in the process for me to have a dealer vehicle, which allowed me to conduct most of my business but the process was frustrating.
